Description

Welp, this is a request that :iconsweetiebelle22: made (over 3 months ago now, but better late than never) that I've finally sorta-kinda done. As you can see, I tried to do a basic digital drawing in Krita first to try and push myself into going digital, but that, well.... didn't go too well, lol. It took me hours, yet that's about all I was able to accomplish (AND I forgot her hat!) - I felt so frustrated and disappointed that I threw together the traditional pencil line art next to it. My artistic ego gets bruised so easily, it's actually kinda pathetic, LOL.

Anyways, I hope this is the start of my digital journey and future digital works :D.

Character: Anastasia/Victoria (I'm not too sure which name), by :iconsweetiebelle22:

Pssh, I think you might not realize how much we have in common sometimes :lmao: I'll admit that my 'artistic ego' causes me to switch mediums whenever I'm not feeling so great about my current project(s). That tends to be a good thing, I'd say more like good intuition, since you'll usually end up with a more natural result (not something that looks forced). I think the concept of seeing the creator's underlying pressure through their art (lines, paint, etc.) is somewhat humorous, but there is some truth to the madness for sure. Sorry for rambling. I probably don't make much sense~ :giggle: but I think it's nice that you posted the two artworks side by side. I'll have to admit my comfort zone has always been with sketches. The character in your sketch has a really calming/relaxed vibe as opposed to the digital work that feels a bit stiff. Not meaning anything bad by that whatsoever, as I know I have the same issue with my own work, but just an observation  It's always fun to see works like this together because it feels like a study of the character :D
